Southern Physical & Occupational Therapy Services is a therapist-owned, local private practice dedicated to providing every patient with the highest quality of rehabilitation services.

Our mission is to offer individualized and innovative quality healthcare services in a family atmosphere, which creates a patient experience that far exceeds expectations, in a cost-effective, compassionate and accessible manner that sets a new standard in our community.

Meet The Staff

Steve and his wife Kathy, an Occupational Therapist, opened Southern Physical and Occupational Therapy Services in 1997 to offer the community an alternative for their therapy needs. He has over 20 years experience working with orthopedic and post surgical diagnoses, sports medicine, vestibular, and general diagnosis requiring physical therapy in a rural setting.

A graduate of The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA, in 1993, (Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy); Steve's prior education includes a Bachelors of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University in 1981.

A member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia; he also holds a Certificate in the Back to Golf program.

Steve, a Rotarian, for almost 20 years vounteers in and is committed to community and local school events. He and Kathy have two children, Trent and NataleeAnn. His hobbies include golf, distance running, reading and sporting events.


Jennifer graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1999. She then attended Georgia Southern University and obtained a B.S. degree in Exercise Science in 2003. She then attended The Medical College of Georgia where she graduated with a Master's of Physical Therapy in 2005.

Following graduation she moved to Valdosta where she worked at Valdosta Pediatric Therapy Servics until 2008. She then had the oppportunity to return to Fitzgerald where she has worked at Southern Physical & Occupational Therapy Services for the past 8 years. Jennifer is married to Randall Shoultz, a football and track coach at Fitzgerald High School. They have twin daughters, Madi and Maci.


Trent is the son of Steve and Kathy Taylor and has been a resident of Fitzgerald his entire life. After graduating from Fitzgerald High School in 2004, Trent went on to earn an Associate of Science degree from North Florida Community College in 2006 and a Bachelors of Science (Exercise Science) from Georgia Sourthern University in 2009. Trent earned his PTA degree from Darton College.


Born and raised in Fitzgerald, Judy graduated from Fitzgerald High School. Judy has 34 years experience working as a physical therapy aide. She has been with Southern Physical & Occupational Therapy Services since it's opening in 1997. She also serves as office manager. Judy enjoys meeting and making lasting friendships with many of the patients that she comes into contact with. She says, "It is a real pleasure to know that you are helping people to improve their overall health."

Judy is married to Ronnie Blackstock and they have one daughter, April.


Linda has been employed with Southern Physical & Occupational Therapy Services since November 2005. She has been involved with medical administration duties and is responsible for all billing and collection issues. She helps with scheduling, authorizing insurance, workers' compensation and medical records.

Linda and her husband, Tommy live in Fitzgerald where they raised their 3 children, Erin, Anna and Luke. In her leisure time she enjoys reading, walking and spending time with her grandchildren.


Kristy has been employed with Southern Physical & Occupational Therapy Services since November 2015. As an administrative assistant, she greets all patients and handles all registration/scheduling of new patients and medical records.

Born and raised in Fitzgerald, Kristy and her husband, James, enjoy spending time with their two children, Chance and Savannah who are constantly on the go with football, wrestling, baseball, dance and spending time with their families.
